We have an incredible team here at Hidden Acre Farm and we have had a position open up mid-season so we are looking for another crewmember to join a wonderful team of energetic, reliable, and fun farmers. You will be involved in all aspects of the organic and vegetable and flower operation. Hidden Acre Farm is a 4-acre certified organic and Real Organic diverse vegetable and flower farm. This is our 6th growing season and we sell at 3 weekend farmers markets including Carroll Gardens Greenmarket. Hidden Acre Farm is a family business owned and operated by Jack and Melissa and we strive to create an enjoyable working environment where our team members can grow personally and professionally while helping Hidden Acre Farm meet our fiscal, environmental, and social goals for the year. Please be under no illusions; farming is exceptionally hard work, though it has the potential to be incredibly rewarding.
Who should apply?
Farmer: We are looking for a new crewmember to join us on the farm for 4 days per week (including Fridays).
● Veg and/ or flower farming experience preferred / outdoor work experience required
● Interest and passion in organic, intensive, and sustainable growing practices
Requirements
● Able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, ice)
● Able to lift 50 lbs and be physically fit
● Able to be on feet and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
●Positive attitude with good work ethic
● Attention to detail, ability to follow directions closely, and good work ethic
● Can commit for the remainder of the season
Schedule and Compensation
FRIDAYS REQUIRED plus 2-3 other weekdays
Farm hours 8-hour day on the farm $17-20/ hour DOE plus unlimited veggies and flowers.
Immediate start. We are unable to provide housing or transportation at this time so those with reliable transport who live locally are encouraged to apply.
